Arriving by Car
Unfortunately there is no free car parking available in the streets surrounding the West End Hostel. On street parking is only free between 1830 hrs and 0830 hrs and all day on a Sunday.

Arriving by Train

The West End Hostel is a 10 minute walk from Haymarket train station and approximately 30 minutes walk from Waverley Station.

Getting to The West End Hostel from Waverley Station
If you disembark from Waverley Station, cross onto the shopping side of Princes Street and walk west with the shops on your right side. Continue for approximately 1 km. Continue beyond Coates and Argyle Crescent and turn right at Boots the Chemist into Palmerston Place. The West End hotel is located 50 metres beyond the Cathedral on the right hand side.
Alternatively, take LRT bus number 3, 26 or 31 from Princes Street Gardens side or the trams and alight at Haymarket then follow the walking directions below. Buses and Tram tickets cost £1.60 for a single adult fare but you must have the correct money as they do not give you any change. Tickets are interchangeable between the buses and the trams, so if you are buying a day ticket at £4.00 you can hop on and off the buses and trams all day.

From Haymarket Station, exit and cross over to Clifton Terrace. Continue East towards city centre and turn left at Boots the Chemist onto Palmerston Place. The West End hostel is located 50 metres beyond the Cathedral on the right hand side.

Arriving by Plane

Getting to The West End Hostel from the airport
Airport Buses and Trams run every 10 minutes from outside the terminal building at Edinburgh Airport.
Alight at Haymarket station and follow the walking directions above. Approximately 10 minutes walk from Haymarket.
Airport Taxis are also available and cost £15-£20 approximately.
